Evan Barbin’s second place finish at the DIAA Golf State Tournament was one place shy of what he was hoping for, but it was good enough for the Red Lion Christian Academy senior to earn the distinction as the 2022 DIAA Golfer of the Year.

“It means a lot to be called player of the year in Delaware,” Barbin said. “It’s a great honor and the fact that it was my last year of high school makes it so much better. It’s nice that my hard work is starting to pay off, and winning awards such as this gives me a ton of confidence going forward in future events and later on in college. I’m truly blessed.”
