Four local residents competed and one was a head coach at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, held July 1 through 7 in Seattle.

Torie Moore won silver medals in the 100-meter freestyle and the 4 x 50 freestyle, and placed fourth in the 50 butterfly. Eric DiSabatino won three silvers in the 100 backstroke, 100 freestyle and 4x50 freestyle relay, and a bronze in the 50 freestyle.

In the bocce events, Gene Giuliani won a bronze in the singles and placed fifth and sixth in the team and doubles events, respectively. Laura Kelly place fourth in bocce singles, fifth in team and sixth in doubles.

Theresa Moore was the head tennis coach for Team Delaware. Her singles players won gold and silver medals and teamed up to win the bronze medal in doubles.

The games were attended by more than 3,000 athletes from across the county, including 20 Delawareans.
