Just two weeks after the Iron Hill Museum celebrated the opening of its new African American History Trail, vandals struck, destroying or stealing nearly all of the informational signs meant to tell the story of the Black community that was once located on Iron Hill.
The damage was discovered by a volunteer on Sunday, according to Robin Broomall, president of the museum. Most of the 14 signs that were installed as part of an Eagle Scout project were ripped off their stands.
