Expect congestion and heavier traffic when driving through Newark this weekend, because the University of Delaware students will be back on campus in full force.
Move in begins on Saturday, and runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for new students, meaning traffic will be heavy in the area of Academy Street and Haines Street, where a majority of the first-year dorms are concentrated.
Returning students will begin moving in on Sunday and Monday, ranging from the early morning to mid-afternoon. Times are staggered for students to move in, to ease congestion.
For the first year under the university’s ownership, students will be moving into the University Courtyard apartment complex on Delaware Avenue. Move in begins Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
