Two more people are facing charges in a string of robberies and other crimes that happened in Newark last month.

Brian J. Blake Jr., 18, and a 17 year-old boy, both from Wilmington, both turned themselves in to police, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department.

The crimes, which involved a total of 11 victims, happened May 16 between 1:30 a.m. and 3:37 a.m.

The robberies happened on East Park Place, West Park Place and on the Pomeroy Trail near Newark Shopping Center. In each incident the men – one armed with a weapon believed to be a BB gun – confronted the victims and demanded property. Two of the victims complied, while the other did not.

In the fourth incident, the men approached a victim on Benny Street, started a conversation and then shot the victim in the hand with a BB gun. The victim was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The first suspect, Jasiah Brooks, 18, was arrested at his home in Bear on May 21.

All three are charged with 30 offenses, including robbery, attempted robbery, assault, menacing and reckless endangering.

Blake was jailed after failing to post $213,000 cash bail. The teen was released on unsecured bail pending an appearance in family court.
