Police are asking for the public’s help locating a truck that was stolen from a construction site on Elkton Road last week.
The vehicle, a 2008 Ford F-750 flatbed truck with Delaware tag CL119061, has a dark green cab with “Diamond Materials” written on the doors. It was loaded with steel concrete forms at the time of the theft, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department.
The truck was being used in the road construction project on Elkton Road, where crews are rebuilding and expanding the highway. Diamond Materials, a construction contractor from Newport, is handling the $25 million project for the Delaware Department of Transportation.
The truck was last seen Aug. 31, and the theft was reported Sept. 2, meaning the theft likely happened during the severe storms caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Cpl Carter McKennon at 302-366-7100, ext. 3491, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
