Three people, including a toddler, were injured in a crash near Newark on Friday.
The crash happened around 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of Otts Chapel Road and Welsh Tract Road, according to Cpl. Yvonne T. Russell, a spokeswoman for New Castle County Paramedics.
Three vehicles collided at the intersection, and at least one person was trapped, Aetna Hose and Ladder Company officials said.
A 3-year-old boy suffered a head injury and was taken to A.I DuPont Children’s Hospital in serious condition, Russell said. A 53-year-old man was taken to Christiana Hospital to be treated for injuries to his face, chest and arm. A third person was also taken to Christiana Hospital.
State troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
