Outdoor concert:Aug. 10, 6:30 p.m., at White Clay Creek State Park’s Carpenter Recreation Area, 880 New London Road. Exit 93 will perform as part of the park’s weekly summer concert series. Free, but park fees apply.
Battle of the Bars:Aug. 11, 5 to 8 p.m., at Courtyard Marriott, 400 David Hollowell Drive. Six Newark bars will compete to raise the most money for charity. Free admission.
Beer garden:Aug. 11, 6 to 9 p.m., at Handloff Park, 1000 Barksdale Road. The Delaware Growler will sell beer, a food truck will sell food, and there will be live music. Free to enter. Open to all ages. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Delaware Fun-A-Day art show:Aug. 12, 4 to 9 p.m., and Aug. 13, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Courtyard Marriott, 400 David Hollowell Drive. Participating artists accepted the challenge of making one piece of artwork each day in July and will exhibit all of their completed work in a large group art show.
