Six people were injured when a school bus and a pickup truck collided south of Newark on Friday morning.

Six people were injured when a school bus and a pickup truck collided south of Newark on May 7, officials said.

The crash happened at 10:16 a.m. on Pleasant Valley Road, south of Old Baltimore Pike, according to Oliver Kocher, a spokesman for New Castle County paramedics.

The truck was on fire when first responders arrived.

A 32-year-old man and two juveniles were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Three other people were treated by EMTs and paramedics but declined transport to the hospital.

State troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
