Shot fired at house in Newark’s Catalina Gardens neighborhood

Newark Police are searching for the person who fired a bullet into a house in the Catalina Gardens neighborhood.

The incident happened sometime between 7 p.m. Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday in the unit block of Plymouth Drive, which runs between West Chestnut Hill Road and South College Avenue, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department.

The resident, who was not injured, called police after finding a bullet hole in a window in the front of the house. The bullet was found lodged in a wall inside the house.

Police found a spent shell casing in the road nearby, Rubin said.
