Two homicide victims were found inside a car parked in Brookside early Feb. 12, police said.
Officers were called to the unit block of Carlisle Road to investigate a suspicious vehicle, according to Master Cpl. Michel Eckerd, a spokesman for the New Castle County Police Department. When they arrived, they found two men dead inside the car.
Authorities identified the victims as Zyitae Britt, 20, and Elijah Covington, 19.
Eckerd said the deaths have been ruled a homicide, but police released no additional information about the incident or possible suspects.
“On behalf of the men and women of the New Castle County Division of Police, I wish to express our condolences and prayers to the families who lost loved ones.” Col. Vaughn M. Bond, Jr. said in a prepared statement. “I can assure our communities that we are working diligently to identify those responsible for this senseless crime.”
