Ogletown store robbed by man wielding a gun and a knife

Police are looking for a man who robbed an Ogletown store while brandishing both a gun and a knife.

The robbery happened around 4:45 p.m. Friday at La Favorita Tienda Mexicana in Augusta Square Shopping Center on East Chestnut Hill Road, according to Sgt. Darren Lester, a spokesman for Delaware State Police.

A masked man walked into the store and demanded money from an employee while displaying the weapons. He grabbed cash that was sitting in plain view under the cash register and then drove away.

The employee was not injured, Lester said.

The robber was described as a Hispanic man in his early to mid 20s, 6 feet tall, with an average build. No surveillance footage was released.
