Newarkers gather at reservoir to watch Blue Angels, Thunderbirds flyover

  • 1

The Navy's Blue Angels and the Air Force's Thunderbirds flew over New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware on Tuesday as part of a collaborative salute to honor health care and front-line workers helping curb the coronavirus outbreak. The 12 jets entered Delaware on the last leg of their journey and flew over New Castle and Christiana Hospital and then continued over southern Newark before heading back to their home base. A couple dozen people gathered to watch the flyover from the Newark Reservoir, one of the highest places in the city. Despite the crowd, most followed social distancing guidelines and remained spaced out in small family groups.
