Newark Urgent Care is planning a 48-hour marathon coronavirus testing event.
The event starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday and runs through 10 a.m. Thursday.
Free rapid tests will be available around the clock and free of charge to all. No appointments are necessary, and results will be available within 20 minutes.
Newark Urgent Care, formerly known as Newark Emergency Room, is located at 324 E. Main St. Police will be on hand to direct traffic, though some delays on Main Street are expected.
Meanwhile, the state and county are continuing to offer drive-through testing sites around the state, with results promised within a day or two. Sign up at de.gov/gettested.
Sites in the Newark area include:
• Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.: UD Laird Campus, Lot 6 (David Hollowell Drive, Newark, DE 19716)
• Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Glasgow Park, Hermitage (US 40, Newark, DE 19702)
• Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.: University of Delaware Star Campus (540 S College Ave, Newark, DE 19713)
