This week is Random Acts of Kindness Week, and the Newark Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating with a virtual event aimed at showing local residents different ways they can help their community.
The volunteer fair will be held via Zoom at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Attendees will be able to chat with the city’s volunteer coordinator about various service opportunities. From young teens through older adults, volunteers assist with special events, programs and summer camps, and are vital in taking care of Newark’s parks.
The discussion will include information about getting community service hours, adopting a Newark park, helping out at events and more.
Registration is required by noon Friday at newarkde.gov/play. Zoom link information will be provided upon registering for the event.
