Police are searching for two men who entered a Newark home and held a resident at gunpoint Monday afternoon.
The incident happened just after 1:30 p.m. in the 100 block of West Main Street, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department.
The two men entered through the front door, and one held the victim at gunpoint while the other went into a bedroom. It’s not clear if they stole anything, Rubin said.
In less than a minute, the men fled on foot. Police searched the area with the assistance of a K-9 but could not find the men.
There were three people inside the home, but only one was confronted by the gunman, Rubin said.
The suspects were described only as black men in their 20s. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Taras Gerasimov at 302-366-7100, ext. 3474, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
