A man is facing charges after allegedly selling a stolen bicycle to an undercover Newark Police officer, authorities said.
The investigation began Sept. 5, when a resident reported the theft of a bicycle from Blair Court, a townhouse community off Casho Mill Road.
The bike was listed for sale online, and a police officer contacted the seller, expressed interest in the bike and arranged to meet him in Leroy C. Hill Park, across the street from Blair Court.
An undercover officer met the seller in the park, arrested him and recovered the stolen bike, police said.
The seller, Sharief Curry, 22, of Gastonia, N.C., was charged with receiving stolen property and selling stolen property. He was released on unsecured bail.
