A Newark man died in a Pennsylvania bicycle crash earlier this week, police said.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday on Southbank Road near Landenberg. The road is just over the state line, near an entrance to White Clay Creek Preserve.
Edward J. Woodrum, 62, was biking north on the two-lane road and crossed into the southbound lane while trying to negotiate a curve. He biked into the path of a southbound Kia Forte, according to a Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson.
The driver of the Kia saw the bike at the last minute and swerved but was unable to avoid hitting the bike, police said. Woodrum was thrown from the bike and suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the Kia was not hurt.
