A man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another man to death in a neighborhood southeast of Newark.
The stabbing happened Jan. 21 in the unit block of Risa Court in Salem Woods, located off Salem Church Road, according to Master Cpl. Michel Eckerd, a spokesman for the New Castle County Police Department.
The victim, who police did not name, suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the hospital, Eckerd said.
Police arrested Marcello Williams, 38, at the scene and charged him with first-degree murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited.
Police did not disclose a motive for the stabbing.
“This investigation is still active and in its early stages,” Eckerd said.
Anyone with information about the crime should contact Det. Kevin Mackie at Kevin.Mackie@newcastlede.gov or 302-395-8133.
