Newark-based children's entertainer John Hadfield brought his well-honed, zany act to the Academy Lawn on Thursday evening as part of the Newark Parks and Recreation Department's weekly spring concert series. Joined by three sidekicks – his (robotic) wise-cracking toucan Nelson, his (imaginary) friend Tippytoes and his (real) dog Reggie – Hadfield delighted the crowd with magic tricks, juggling, songs and jokes. The free spring concerts continue every Thursday at 7 p.m. through June 20.
