Six more Delawareans have died from complications of the coronavirus, state officials announced Wednesday.
The death toll now stands at 310.
The deceased have ranged in age from 21 to 103 years old. Of those who have died, 161 were women and 149 were men. A total of 138 were from New Castle County, 55 were from Kent County, 116 were from Sussex County, and one individual’s county of residence is unknown at this time. Nursing home patients accounted for 199, or 64 percent, of the deaths.
Officials also announced 157 new confirmed cases.
Of the 8,194 cases, 2,933 are in New Castle County, 1,253 are in Kent County, and 3,960 are in Sussex County. There are also 48 cases for which the county of residence is unknown.
According to officials, 220 patients are hospitalized and 35 are critically ill.
Meanwhile, 205 more people have fully recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,965.
More than 37,200 people have tested negative.
