Glasgow High School will host two public events related to the coronavirus this week – a free testing site and a massive food distribution.
On Thursday, ChristianaCare will run a COVID-19 testing site from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Unlike most testing sites, this event does not require a prescription or testing order from a doctor. Free testing is available to anyone from Newark, Glasgow and the surrounding community.
Those seeking to be tested should bring identification.
On Friday, the Food Bank of Delaware will host a mobile food pantry, with the capacity to serve as many as 2,500 families.
The distribution will begin at 11 a.m.
All food recipients must stay in their vehicle and should make sure their trunks or back seats are cleared out so volunteers can load food with minimal interaction.
Participants are encouraged to register at Maynewcastlecountyfood.eventbrite.com, though on-site registration will be available. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Glasgow High is located at 1901 S. College Ave.
