Fire damaged a home in the Lumbrook neighborhood of Newark early Sunday, according to Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company officials.

The fire broke out around 12:15 a.m. in the unit block of Orchard Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find fire in the walls and soffit around a wood stove and chimney.

Firefighters from Aetna, Christiana Fire Company, Claymont Fire Company, Mill Creek Fire Company, Hockessin Fire Company and Townsend Fire Company brought the fire under control within 10 minutes.

No one was injured.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Aetna officials reminded Newarkers to have annual inspections of their chimneys, fireplaces and vents.
