Someone broke into a store at Newark Shopping Center and stole cash in the middle of the night, police reported.
The break-in happened at around 4 a.m. Saturday at the T-Mobile store, according to Sgt. Gerald Bryda, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department.
Alerted by a burglar alarm, police found that someone had broken in through the back door. However, the intruder was gone by the time police arrived.
An employee of the store determined that an undisclosed amount of cash had been stolen.
No surveillance footage is available.
