The Newark Police Department recently promoted two corporals to the rank of master corporal.
Master Cpl. Christopher Jones began his law enforcement career in 1996 with the Kalkaska County Sheriff’s Department, in Kalkaska, Mich. In 2003, he was hired by NPD.
Jones was instrumental in the creation and development of the NPD K-9 Program in 2006 and continues to patrol with his K-9 partner, Kody.
Master Cpl. Michael Watson attended Rutgers University for both undergraduate and graduate studies. He joined NPD in 2006.
Watson serves as NPD’s polygraph examiner, holding certificates from the American Polygraph Association, the American Association of Police Polygraphists and the Maryland Polygraph Association.
