Dozens of volunteers descended on the Newark Reservoir this week to begin constructing Preston’s Playground. Planned for more than three years, the playground is meant to allow all children – regardless of disabilities – to play together in a safe, accessible space. The bulk of the work is expected to be finished this weekend, with the playground slated to open to the public at the end of the month. “Newark is a community of neighbors – and this multi-day build is a great example of how this community comes together,” Newark Parks and Recreation Director Joe Spadafino said.

You cannot post enough photos and positive comments about how good this project is and will be for years to come. Kudos to Nic to get it started, the city to support it along with many other grants and organizations funding it. All the volunteers demonstrate great community pride. [thumbup]
