The 64th-annual DFRC Blue-Gold Game brought together the state's best high school football players Friday night at Delaware Stadium. Local players included Newark’s Dayton Swanhart and Christiana’s Warrick Galbert. Glasgow’s Anthony DeSanta was selected but did not play. Gold won, 38-24. As usual, a highlight of the night was the interaction between the players and their “buddies” in the Hand-to-Hand program, which matches up each player with a child or young adult who has an intellectual disability. Players and their buddies share social experiences in the months leading up to the game, some organized by DFRC and others arranged independently by the football players and buddies.
