Parks on Draft

The Parks on Draft pop-up beer garden drew hundreds of people to Handloff Park last month. The event returns this weekend.

Holy Family Summerfest: July 16 and July 17, 5 to 10 p.m.; July 18, 1 to 9:30 p.m., at Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Road. The annual carnival includes rides, games, food and live music. Free admission and parking, but a charge applies for rides.

Parks on Draft: July 16 and July 17, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; July 18, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Handloff Park, 1000 Barksdale Road. This family-friendly pop-up beer garden will feature food and drinks for sale by Klondike Kate’s, as well as music and more. Admission and parking are free

Main Street Alfresco: July 21, 4 to 9 p.m., on Main Street between Chapel Street and South College Avenue. Main Street will be shut down, and restaurants will offer expanded outdoor seating. Parking is available at city lots, but normal fees apply.

Outdoor concert: July 21, 6:30 p.m., at White Clay Creek State Park’s Carpenter Recreation Area, 880 New London Road. Spokey Speaky will perform as part of the park’s weekly summer concert series. Free, but park fees apply.

Outdoor concert: July 22, 6:30 p.m., at Glasgow Park, 2275 Pulaski Highway. The Glasgow Park Summer Concert Series continues with a performance by Richard Raw and the Word Warrior Band. Bring chairs or a blanket. Free.
