Trunk show

The Newark Arts Alliance will host a trunk show on June 18.

Trunk show: Friday, 4 to 7 p.m., at Newark Arts Alliance, 276 E. Main St. Eight local artists will display and sell their work in the parking lot of Market East Plaza. There will be beer, wine and soft pretzels for sale, and the NAA gallery will be open. Free admission.

Parks on Draft: Friday and Saturday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Handloff Park, 1000 Barksdale Road. This family-friendly pop-up beer garden will feature food and drinks for sale by Home Grown Cafe, as well as music, local merchants, yoga classes and more. Admission and parking are free.

Main Street Alfresco: Wednesday, 4 to 9 p.m., on Main Street between Chapel Street and South College Avenue. Main Street will be shut down, and restaurants will offer expanded outdoor seating. Parking is available at city lots, but normal fees apply. A free, walk-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held on the Academy Lawn..

Outdoor concert: Thursday, 6:30 p.m., at Glasgow Park, 2275 Pulaski Highway. The Glasgow Park Summer Concert Series kicks off with a performance by What the Funk, a seven-piece band playing a wide range of funk, soul and dance music from all eras. Bring chairs or a blanket. Free.
