Holiday concert: Sunday, 4 p.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. College Ave. St. Paul’s Ministry of Music will present its annual holiday concert. Free.

City council meeting: Monday, 7 p.m., at city hall, 220 S. Main St. Council will discuss a proposed transportation improvement district agreement and give direction to the city’s lobbyist regarding the upcoming legislative session.

Christina School Board meeting: Tuesday, 6:30 p.m., at Newark High School, 750 Delaware Ave. The board will discuss the upcoming referendum and the search for a new superintendent.

Planning commission meeting: Thursday, 7 p.m., at city hall, 220 S. Main St. The planning commission will discuss the Kappa Alpha fraternity house on Amstel Avenue. The privately owned property was mistakenly designated as "university" in the city's comprehensive plan, and the city wants to change it to "residential, low density" to match the zoning.

Artist reception: Friday, Jan. 10, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Newark Arts Alliance, 276 E. Main St. Artist Susan Balascio will display ethereal tranquil landscapes woven of hand-dyed fibers. The exhibit will be on display through Jan. 31. Free.

Main St. The planning commission will discuss a proposal for five townhouses on New London Road as well as a proposal to annex properties at 734 Paper Mill Road and 5 and 11 Possum Hollow Road and build 11 single-family homes. (Note: this meeting was originally planned for Tuesday but was rescheduled.)
