A outdoor movie will be shown July 10 at Newark Charter High School.

Fireworks: Friday, 9:15 p.m., at the University of Delaware athletic complex. The City of Newark will hold its annual Independence Day fireworks show, but no music, vendors or other activities will be provided due to the pandemic. Parking available at the lots surrounding the stadium and on the STAR Campus. Parking opens at 7 p.m. Free.

Main Street Alfresco: Wednesday, 4 to 9 p.m., on Main Street between Chapel Street and South College Avenue. Main Street will be shut down, and restaurants will offer expanded outdoor seating. Parking is available at city lots, but normal fees apply.

Outdoor concert: Thursday, 6:30 p.m., at Glasgow Park, 2275 Pulaski Highway. The Glasgow Park Summer Concert Series continues with a performance by Swing That Cat!. Bring chairs or a blanket. Free.

Outdoor movie: Saturday, July 10, 8:30 p.m., at Newark Charter High School, 200 McIntire Drive. The Disney Pixar movie “Onward” will be shown on a 30-foot screen on the Newark Charter soccer field. Admission is $8 per person for non-residents and $6 for residents of Newark. Bring snacks and chairs or a blanket. Parking opens at 7:30 p.m. Register online at www.newarkde.gov/play.
