Snack with Santa

NHS all-class reunion: Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m., at Newark Country Club, 300 W. Main St. All Newark High School alumni are welcome. $20 admission includes light fare. Cash bar.

Winter bazaar: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Newark United Methodist Church, 69 E. Main St. The bazaar will feature numerous local crafters, small business owners and baked goods. Benefits Newark Methodist Preschool.

City council meeting: Monday, 7 p.m. at city hall, 220 S. Main St. Council will discuss a variety of green energy proposals.

Christmas bazaar: Friday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at St. Thomas’s Episcopal Parish, 276 S. College Ave. Visitors can buy unique holiday crafts (many under $10), fresh baked goods, a cookie walk selection, quarts of homemade soups, St. Thomas’s t-shirts and hoodies and second-hand Christmas decorations.

Winterfest: Friday, Dec. 6, 6 to 8 p.m., on the Academy Lawn. Annual event features a Christmas tree lighting, music, roasted chestnuts and an ice-carving demonstration. Free.

Reindeer Run: Friday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m., at the Aetna fire station on Academy Street. The 5K utilizes downtown Newark, the University of Delaware campus and the James F. Hall Trail and raises money for Special Olympics Delaware. $30. Register at www.sode.org.

Snack with Santa: Saturday, Dec. 7, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at George Wilson Center, 303 New London Road. Kids and their parents can join Santa for snacks, crafts, games and photos. Vendors will set up Santa’s Secret Shoppe, where kids can buy gifts under $5 for family and friends. $2 per person.
