Chapel Street Players capital campaign kickoff:Dec. 30, 6 p.m., at Chapel Street Playhouse, 27 N. Chapel St. Chapel Street Players will kick off its capital campaign to raise money for its move to a new facility. A 6 p.m. reception will include hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. New Year’s Eve Labyrinth Walk:Dec. 31, 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark, 420 Willa Road. Join the church for a peaceful, meditative, candlelit walk on the UUFN’s Chartres-design labyrinth on New Year’s Eve. This is the perfect time to contemplate the year that is passing and mindfully set your intentions for the year that is just beginning. Free and open to the public.

First Day hikes:Jan. 1 at White Clay Creek State Park. Start off 2023 with a hike outdoors, lead by park staff and volunteers from Friends of White Clay Creek State Park. A 3.5-mile hike will leave from Chambers House Nature Center at 10 a.m. A 2-mile hike will leave from the Possum Hill Parking Lot at 11 a.m. Free.
