Summer concert series

The annual summer concert series at White Clay Creek State Park continues Wednesday.

Blue-Gold Game: Friday, 7 p.m., at Delaware Stadium. High School seniors will participate in the 64th annual all-star football game. Tickets ($10, $8 for students) are available at the gate.

Concert: Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday, 4 p.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. College Ave. The church’s choir, orchestra and handbell ensemble will perform in the annual Concert for a Summer Holiday. Free, but donations encouraged. Proceeds will help the church repair its digital signs and build a new community playground.

Paper shredding and car show: Saturday, 11 to 4 p.m., at Peoples Plaza. The Peoples Plaza Merchants Association is hosting a car show. Those interested can also bring documents and other papers to be shredded securely from noon to 3 p.m. Limit of three boxes of papers per household. Free.

5K Run/Walk: Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to noon, at the Food Bank of Delaware, 14 Garfield Way. Lace up your running/walking shoes for the Food Bank of Delaware's inaugural Out Run Hunger 5K run/walk. Course is flat and fast. Post-race party featuring food, beer from Midnight Oil Brewing Company and Two Stones Pub Newark, live entertainment and games. $25 for 5K, $15 for a guest pass to the post-race party.

Council meeting: Monday, 7 p.m., at city hall, 220 S. Main St. Council will discuss rules and procedures for meetings, hear an update on the 2020 Census and vote on a contract for demolition of the Rodney dorms.

Concert series: Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., at White Clay Creek State Park’s Carpenter Recreation Area, 880 New London Road. Big Package Band will perform as part of the park's weekly summer concert series. Free, but park fees apply.
