Michael Yonko, Jr., age 77, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. He was born on November 17, 1933 to the late Michael Yonko Sr. and Mary (Tymchak) Yonko.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army as a general supply specialist from 1954-56, he worked in Wilmington, DE doing auto body repair. Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Michael was an avid hunter and fisherman and appreciated the great outdoors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rita Yonko of Elkton, MD; sons, Paul Yonko and his wife, Joan of Salem, NJ and Michael Yonko III of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Lynn Emanuel and her husband, David of Newark, DE; grandson, Jacob; nephew Raymond and his wife, Valorie and their son, Jayden; sister, Delores Guiberson; brother, Walter Yonko and his wife, Pat of Elkton, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Thomas Yonko.

Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 231 Basil Ave., Chesapeake City, MD, 21915. Friends and family may visit starting at 9AM until 1030 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Burial will be private.

Due his love for the great outdoors, the family has requested that memorial contributions to Ducks Unlimited c/o the funeral home be made in Michael’s honor.
