The Delaware State Police investigated a two vehicle crashed which closed part of Commons Boulevard yesterday.

The mishap occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, as David Muzzleman, 27, of Newark, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet truck and was traveling southbound on Commons Boulevard, when 2002 Pontiac Bonneville operated by Vernita Williams, 23 of New Castle, crossed in front of him from eastbound Airport Road. The front of Muzzleman’s truck struck the left center area of the Bonneville.

Muzzleman and Williams were both transported from the scene by EMS to the Christiana Hospital where they were both treated for their injuries. Neither suffered life threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Vernita Williams was cited for failing to remain stopped at a stop sign. Southbound Commons Boulevard was closed for just over an hour as the crash was investigated and cleared.
