On November 20, at approximately 3 a.m., the Middletown Police responded to northbound US 301 at Merrimac Ave, for a personal injury crash involving two tractor trailers.

Investigation revealed that a tractor trailer that was operated by Johnny Roberts, 45, of Latta, South Carolina, was traveling N/B on U.S. 301 when he struck the rear of a tractor trailer that was being operated by Marvin Raggins, 57, of Hastings, Florida, as Raggins was stopped at a red light.
The collision pushed Raggins tractor trailer approximately 36 feet. The cab portion of the striking tractor trailer was totally demolished, and the rear of the trailer that was struck sustained damage.
The driver of the striking vehicle, Roberts was transported to Christiana Hospital by Middletown Volunteer Ladder and Hose for facial lacerations and a fractured right leg. He was treated and released.
The driver of the tractor trailer that was struck, Raggins complained of no injuries.
The northbound lanes of U.S. 301 were closed for approximately 45 minutes.
