The Delaware Solid Waste Authority and New Castle County Government will collect used and unwanted electronic goods and allow residents to shred documents this Saturday, Aug. 25, in the parking lot of the New Castle County Government Center at 87 Reads Way in New Castle.
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Delaware residents can drop off electronic items such as radios, televisions, calculators, computers and their parts, keyboards, printers, copiers, cables, phones, fax machines, answering machines, and VCRs.
Residents can also bring up to two boxes of paper to be shredded, free of charge. Shredding sensitive documents is one way to reduce your risk of becoming an identity-theft victim.
These events are restricted to Delaware residents only, and are not offered to commercial services. The events will be held rain or shine.
For more information on the event or a more extensive list of acceptable items, call the DSWA Citizens’ Response Line at 1-800-404-7080 or visit www.dswa.com.
